Birthday Card for Pops

This card is made especially for an 89-year-old man who is going to celebrate his 90th! He is the patient of a dear friend who hopes to make and get others to create 90 birthday cards in total for him. I hope this can bring a smile to his face! :)

I've decided to make a pop-up card using the funny images from Art Impressions. They are the best for hilarious images. I love them! Here is the front of the card. We are sure ready to put out a fire as there are certainly a lot of candles on the cake of someone who is celebrating his 90th birthday!

"OKAY! Light the candle!"

Here's the inside of the card with the birthday boy, family, friends, balloons, party decor, birthday song and, of course, birthday cake with lots of candles! I hope Pops would love all the cards sent his way. Happy birthday, POPS!

Here's how I created the card. First I stamped the image below. The actual image is much longer and there are 2 more characters on the right but I think it's too long for the intended size of the card. After stamping, I coloured it with Faber Caster watercolour pencils. I did not use water or blender for colouring. I've really enjoyed colouring with these pencils these few months and have been using them almost exclusively for colouring my stamped images. I do wish I had more colours too. It's getting a little boring.

Then I stamped and coloured the image below. Both stamps are from Art Impressions.

After both images were ready, I fussy cut and assembled the card together. The pop-up feature of the interior of the card was very much simplified by the use of the 'Lots of Pops' die. Just realised how apt it is that I have used 'Lots of Pops' for Pops' card! Hope you like my creation presented here. Do make some pop-up cards if you haven't tried making them yet. I love them!
