Snow Fairy Christmas Card

Hi, I'm back with a card that features a character that I don't usually use in my cards. It's a fairy! These fairies are Mo Manning's illustrations and so, they must be beautiful! They don't look that the typical fairies with long flowy hair but a little mischievous rolling snow. Maybe that's why I like them. I chose one of the three fairies in the stamp set.

I'm not sure what colours a fairy would wear, so I chose a green hat and then orange for his clothes. So now, he resembles a carrot with purple wings. :D As it's a Christmas card, I want to have some sparkle on it. I was trying to fit a couple of silver hologram snowflakes on the image but somehow they didn't look right. I changed my mind after some time and die cut a couple of gold hologram snowflakes. They do fill in the empty space. The embossing on the green card base is a last minute decision. I like how this little detail makes the card look a little more interesting than when it was without embossing.

Chrismas Card with Paris Skyline

This card is similar to the previous one except that I used another Miss Anya from the same stamp set  from The Greeting Farm. Here, Miss Anya is in Paris. I had a little trouble thinking of the colours to use on the skyline when I saw photos of some of the world's landmarks bathe in the colours of France, so I decided then and there to paint this skyline in the same colours.

Christmas Card with London Skyline

London would always have a special place in my heart. It's one of my favouritw cities in the world. On the card, I didn't use my usual go-to colours, that is, orange and dark blue but I think the colours do suit the scene. I love this Miss Anya from The Greetimg Farm. It was really lovely to colour her.

Christmas Card using Inlaid Diecutting Technique

This post is linked to an earlier post that I created on inlaid diecutting. This is the link to that post.

Lawn Fawn Winter Penguin in 2 Different Scenes

Penguins are one of my favourite critters to pit on a card. Here, I stamped and coloured Lawn Fawn's Winter Penguin stamp image. I didn't want to colour them the usual colour, black, so I chose dark blue and purple.

I created two scenes. One is of the penguin skating in New York City with the city'so skyline in the background. I love it that this Christmas card is not in the traditional colours but in one of my favourite colours - pink!

The other one is of the penguin skating through a park. I enjoyed watercolouring the trees. I've leaened to take it very easy while colouring as it doesn't really matter if the end result is not as what has been expected. It's more important to chill and enjoy the colouring process as it's very relaxing.

Here's another look of the scene. I think I like the park scene better as it's more serene. It's so peaceful and that's how it should be like during Christmas as Christ is the Prince of Peace.

Trying out Inlaid Die Cutting

Hi, I've made 2 Christmas cards with the inlaid diecutting technique. I've seen some wonderful results on Instagram and decided to give it a go. It was rather fun!

I die cut the sentiments first on both cardstock. Then I stamped the grumplings images with Versa Fine ink and coloured them with my Faber Castell watercolour pencils. I don't use any water or blender liquids at all. I prefer it this way. Next, I watercoloured the words with distress inks. I used 4 recent colours and did not exactly planned where to put the colours. It was random and fun! After all colouring was completed, I adhered everything together on the card bases.

Here are the cards.

Let It Snow! with Liquid Appliqué

Hi! I have the Liquid Appliqué for about a month now. Today, at last, I decided to use it. It was all because I thought the card seemed to have too much empty space at the bottom.

I started by colouring this image from My Favorites Things. Isn't she adorable? There was a little accident when I was coloring it when a glob of ink suddenly flowed out of my Copic marker. I managed to salvage the image. Thank God!

Then I die cut all the different bits and pieces, coloured the background and pieced everything together.

Here's a closer look at the faux snow. It's rather cool. It was pretty fun to watch it rise when I used the heating tool on it. It didn't take too long and I didn't want the snow to get burnt, so once it was raised, I put the heating tool aside.

Grumpling in a Bauble Christmas Card

Hi! I love Taylored Expeessions' grumplings so much that I can't have enough of them. Here's another Christmas card I made using the Holiday Grumplings. I picked the penguin as I think that he looks extremely sulky and the best choice to be put in a happy bauble. What a funny contrast! Of course, there must be lots of glitter and shimmer to lift grumpy mood!

Thank You Card Inspired by Andy Warhol

I had fun making this card inspired by Andy Warhol's creation. It's IG Crafty Crew's hard challenge theme given by Sandy. She made a few awesome cards by the theme.

I looked through some of my stamp sets to look for an image which had plenty of space for colouring and also one that I could duplicate easily. And I found the the image in one of Lawn Fawn's new stamp sets. As I was preparing to colour the sheep. A family member who has never been able to understand my love for crafts and colouring asked me for a sheep to paint too! What a pleasant surprise! And so we sat side by side to watercolour the sheep.

I die cut the 4 small squares before stamping and colouring the image. Then I adhered everything onto a card base and lastly stuck on the sentiment. Easy peasy, fun to make and inspirational enough for a non-crafter to ask to join in!
