MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge 243 & Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes Wednesday Challenge

One of the ladies,Tracy, in our IG Crafty Crew suggested incorporating 'Matisse' in our next card. Tracy has published a blog post on Henri Matisse and her own Matisse card creation. You may want to read it here. I had absolutely no idea who Matisse was. Sandy was very kind to look up some of his works and showed us samples. I gained a little knowledge on his style BUT I still didn't know what to create.

I tried making one card but I felt it was not Matisse enough. Late last night, I had a sudden inspiration to create my Matisse card! This is the end result of my Matisse wannabe. I made this card with Tracy in mind. I remember she mentioned that she loved Halloween. For whatever reason, I'm really not sure but theta really left an impression because it was the first time I saw such enthusiasm in someone about Halloween. :D

Of course, a Halloween card must be a little EXTRA-ordinary and SUPER-natural. So I added special effects. When I switch off the lights, I can still see my Matisse wannabe card! Haha! It's kind of cool for a sudden inspiration. It was a pretty fun card to make within the hour.

I've deciderd to enter this creepy card in the Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes Wednesday Challenge and also the MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge number 243. Here's the sketch for the MFT Challenge.

Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes Wednesday Challenge

I had not exactly planned to take part in this challenge. I had to make some encouragement note cards for a few kids. After I had completed them, I thought of the theme of the challenge. It is 'Angyhing Goes'! Yay! That certainly means that these encouragement cards for kids can be submitted. However, I didn't use any Hero Arts products. But that's not a definite requirement. So it's still ok.

I started with 2 notecards using Mama Elephant stamps - Three Amigos.

Then I coloured another one using another Mama Elephant stamp set - Photo Bomb. I love this set! It's so fun to colour.

Finally, I made the last 2 cards. One is a bear from Simon Says Stamp and the other is a pig from Create a Smile. I'm quite pleased with them. I die cut a slip of paper to stick on the back of every note card so that I can write a short message.

At the very last minute, I decided to laminate very card so that the kids can use them as book marks if they want.

AEI♥U Challenge #27–Embossing! & Lawnscaping Challenge: Embossing

I wanted to take part in the AEI♥U Challenge when I saw it last week but I had no inspiration to create. I was delighted to find out later that the Lawnscaping Challenge has the same theme - embossing! I was more determined to participate in both! Haha! However, I really had no idea what to create.

Today, as I went about my daily tasks, I forced myself to churn out some ideas at the back of my mind. So this Ellie card is the result. It was pretty fast to create but my creative mental block made it seem like I took forever to make the card.

Hope you like it! :)

Simon Says Stamp Back to School Wednesday Challenge & MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge - Sketch 242

I'm so excited about my first purchase from Stamping Bella! Here is a Petunia stamp that I've wanted for the longest time! It's called 'nice to SEE you Petunia'. I'm so glad to have finally bought it. I'm pleasantly surprised that the image stamped clear and very fine. I love it so much! The stamp is also of good quality and I like the colour of the rubber stamp although it doesn't really matter except that it's pretty pretty! :)

I've decided to make another back-to-school card. This time is to enter the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Back to School.

The second challenge that I'm participating with this card is the MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge Challenge 242. Here's the sketch.

A closer look at Petunia and her chicky mates! Aren't they adorable?

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge 241

Here's my card for My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge 241. I love this sketch! Instead of stars, I decided to use snowflakes. I love snowflakes and cannot resist collecting snowflake dies. The snowflakes reminded me of Christmas and so I made one!

Here's how the sketch looks:

I used white Wink of Stella on the snowflakes. It's not obvious in the photos. They would be more sparkly if I had used embossing powder. I didn't go ahead in the end as I thought it might be too much as the sentiment is already shiny.

Love this cute Santa from MFT Birdie Brown Jingle All the Way stamp set!

Hula Dancing at the Beach

I had fun making this beach themed card. Love this hula girl from MFT stamps! All right, I might be bias as I'm a huge Birdie Brown fan. :D

For those who are interested, here are the steps on how I created this card.
I coloured the girl first with distress inks and fussy cut her.

After that, I die cut the beach border and coloured it with distress inks

When the colouring was completed, I painted the sky before adhering the beach border to the sky.

Then I die cut the background with the stitched rounded rectangle die. The last step was to stick the hula girl to the backdrop and stamp the sentiment before adhering the entire scene onto a top-folding card base.

Simon Says Stamp Food and Drink Wednesday Challenge & The Daily Marker Pop Up Challenge Day 1

I'm taking part in 2 challenges with this card.

The first challenge is the Simon Say Stamp Food and Drink Challenge. It was tough thinking of which stamp to use as they are so many adorable ones. I finally decided to settle for this adorable penguin with a giant candy cane. Candy Cane is food, isn't it? Although it's not exactly real food. I love the way that thos little guy from Art Impressions is holding its food. He's so cute!

The second challenge is The Daily Marker Pop Up Challenge Day one. The theme is lines, so that explains all those crazy green, red and white lines of the background. I do like how it has turned out. There's a Christmassy feel about it. :D

Lawnscaping Challenge No. 111 Back to School

Black to school is always fun! There are so many thinga for a child to look forward to. gaining new knowledge, acquiring new skills, playtime with friends, various school activities and events are among some of them. With these thoughts in mind, I've created this fun back-to-school card. The school term promises lots of happy times.

The two robot kids are glowing thinking of the fun times ahead. Kids are creative little people, so I thought it would be interesting to have an oval-shaped card instead of the conventional shapes.

Not the Ordinary Kind of Hawaiian Birthday Card

I love creating stuff with a twist, especially with a humorous twist. If only I have the inspiration all the time! I'm pretty happy with this card that I've just made. It is just like how I've pictured it in my head! I couldn't wait to create with this new release from MFT as I've just received my order today. Yes! They delivered really fast, as usual. I received my order in 4 days when I live half a world away! Whoot! I forced myself to get my creative juices flowing. I really wanted to use the tiki hut die as I had hesitated buying it even though I knew I loved it. However, I didn't want to let it be plain or pair it with the girl from the Polynesian Paradise stamp set because they match too well. I want to do something a little different. I was inspired by the sweet girl (I'm a huge Birdie Brown fan!) though, so I went looking for a 'dancing' robot in the Bionic Bots stamp set. Then I saw it! I even put it next to the dancing girl to make a comparison. It seemed to work well. All the robot needed was a similar skirt like this girl's. So here goes! Hope you like this creation and it has put a smile on your face.

MFT Sketch Challenge - Sketch 240

It's time for another MFT Sketch Challenge! I'm beginning to enjoy this as it gives me a good excuse to craft. Here is the sketch template for the Sketch Challenge 240:
It has just occurred to me that I have missed 238 challenges!!! Below is my interpretation of the sketch. Well, it's quite a direct interpretation, much like my previous submission for sketch 239. The little squares when put together along with a little bow die-cut transform magically into a present. It's pretty apt for the occasion which this card is meant for. The sentiment can be changed and the colours of this card is perfect for Christmas. Somehow, I find that it looks plain but I'm not sure what other colours to add to liven the card, so I left the ants to do the job, Love these tiny creatures from Mama Elephant.

Here's a closer look at the dancing ants and the bow die-cut. The bottom right ant has formed a heart with its 'hands'. They are all so cute. The bow cut out so neatly.

Here's the list of products that I've to create this card:

MFT Die-namics postage stamp stax

MFT Sketch Challenge - Sketch 239

This is the card that I have submitted for the first card challenge in my entire life. Yay!
I've decided to attempt a MFT Card Challenge as they are one of my favourite brands.

It happened to be the MFT Sketch Challenge - Sketch 239.
Here is the template:

It's a no-colouring-needed card, perfect for those who prefer not to colour. :) Well... I do love colouring but it's just that sometimes it's one of those "I don't feel like colouring" days. :D I use die-cut various shapes and paperpiece them together. It's rather fast to put everything together. The part where I had to crack my head a little bit more was the colour combination.

Can someone please teach me how I can add smileys here if anyone is reading? It's killing me that I can't use some emoticons here. ;)

Here's the list of products that I've to create this card:

MFT die-namics scribbles
MFT die-namics dimensional banners
MFT die-namics layered leaves
MFT die-namics cross stitch circle stax
Avery Elle Elle-ments double pierced rectangles
We R Memory Keepers Next Level embossing folders gemstone
Simon Says Stamp thanks die
